Perth: Amid wide speculation of rift within team India, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday denied any split within the team by saying the team is united and it’s just what opposition is dreaming of.
“I have never seen the Indian team fight. And this is one thing we are really proud of. Our real strength is that we love each other and enjoy each other's successes. I am really proud of our dressing room atmosphere,” Dhoni, speaking to reporters ahead of the third Test against Australia at Perth, said.
Dhoni, who is underfire for the team’s failure in the recent Test matches abroad wherein India lost six straight Test matches, said he would look to get back in the series, which India trailing 0-2.
“We want to get back in the series as there are two more matches to go. We need to look at areas where you can improve further. We have learnt a lot from England series. We are hoping for the best in the remaining matches,” he added.
"India's preparations are good. Hopefully it will reflect on the field. We are ready for the Test match," he said.
Defending his decisions taken in the recent Test matches, which were under criticism by some, he said it’s easier to look from outside. "It's easier to comment from outside. We have to take the criticism in our stride. It's not always about taking the best decisions, but taking right decisions. I might get it wrong sometimes," he said.
