Auckland: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) chief executive Justin Vaughan has said that the board has hit the jackpot with the new future tours programme [FTP] that will see tours of India and England and the 50-over World Cup.
“It is congested, I won’t lie, we haven’t cut back on the volume of cricket, but we’re really happy with the home programme we’ve got,” a website quoted Vaughan, as saying.
“We’ve got a lot of cricket and tours by really big countries. In an eight-year period we’ve got three tours by England and a couple of tours by India, which is great for lots of reasons for NZC,” he added.
Tours of India provide comfortably the highest revenue for the host nation of any touring country because of the huge television rights they command.
