New Delhi: Ravichandran Ashwin, who bamboozled South African batsmen in the recent Freedom series, showed his other side when a cricket fan questioned his credentials as a top bowler.

In a tweet, the fan claimed that the offbreak bowler is a "waste" in foreign condition, and he can "show his performance only in Asia".

Ashwin, who shares the record five Man of the Series awards in Tests for India with Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, retorted asking, "did I ask your permission before deciding to take up cricket?"

The 29-year-old also advised the fan to focus on getting kids educated instead of worrying about him.
