The Pakistan innings have wrapped up within 36 overs. The dwindling top order had already given a weak start to the team and lower order batsmen could not add significantly to the run chase. While the series was already in South Africa’s hand, today’s victory has given them a 4-1 win over Pakistan. After the departure of Misbah, the 54-run fifth-wicket partnership of Umar Akmal and Maqsood’s was broken by Duminy. Akmal was trapped in the front. Unconvinced, he went or a review, but was declared out. Shahid Afridi was the next batsman at the crease. He too scored a paltry 9 runs before being caught out by Parnell. After Afridi’s departure, Pakistan were 128 for the loss of 6 wickets. Sohail Tanvir, joined Maqsood who completed his half-century, raising the team’s hopes for a short while. In the 31st over, off Duminy’s delivery, he hit the ball over to the long-on where Philander took an easy catch. Right in the next over, new batsman Saeed Ajmal was caught in front by Parnell. Mohammad Irfan was Parnell’s next victim. Amla took an easy catch for Irfan’s dismissal. The last batsman, Sohail Tanveer, edged McLaren’s delivery right into the hands of de Kock, putting an end to Pakistan's innings. ==================================================================================== Over 25 || Score 105/4 Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez opened the batting for Pakistan while Vernon Philander and Lonwabo Tsotsobe started the proceedings for South Africa. Pakistan lost three wickets in quick succession in the first ten overs itself. And by the next five overs they had lost their most reliable batsman, skipper Misbah-ul Haq. After loss of 4 wickets in 25 overs, Pakistan require 164 more runs to win the match. First it was Shehzad in the fourth over, who on Tsotsobe’s delivery hit the ball up in the air directly into the hands of Vernon Philander at deep fine leg. Sohaib Maqsood was in at No. 3. Right in the fifth over, the second opener Hafeez was sent back to the pavilion by Philander. The ball hit the middle stump and Hafeez had to go at 6 runs. In just eight runs, Pakistan had lost 2 wickets. Umar Amin was at no.4 but he could not last even till four overs. In the 9th over, Philander trapped Amin at the front and claimed his second wicket. Pakistan had some hopes with the next batsman in line, skipper Misbah-ul Haq, who had just starting adding runs with boundaries. But in the 16th over, off McLaren’s delivery, Misbah hit the ball straight to the fielder at mid-on and Pakistan lost their fourth wicket. Umar Akmal joined Maqsood at the crease. The duo added 54 runs to take the score to 105 runs. ==================================================================================== South Africa innings Over 50 || Score 268/7 The quick loss of wickets cost South Africa many runs but AB de Villiers’ knock of 115* runs took them to a respectable total of 268 runs. After quick fall of wickets, the 62 runs partnership between Plessis and Villiers was quite helpful for the team. The last 20 overs saw addition of 114 runs, with the last over bringing 25 runs. Junaid Khan finally managed a wicket in the 31st over. Du Plessis’ was South Africa’s fourth wicket to fall. Plessis hit the ball straight to Sohail Tanvir, the fielder at deep square leg. DA Miller joined de Villiers at no. 5. Saeed Ajmal claimed his second wicket in the 39th over. Miller after scoring 15 off 25 balls was caught by Ajmal. He hit the ball straight to the bowler. Ryan McLaren came in as the new batsman. The 41st over also brought fifty runs for AB. He reached his half-century in style with a huge six off Ajmal’s delivery lofted through midwicket. McLaren was Ajmal’s third victim. McLaren went for a sweep but got an inside edge and the ball went up in the air straight to Junaid Khan. Peterson's was the seventh wicket to fall. Off Junaid Khan’s delivery, he tried to hit the ball hard, but it hit the stumps. Wayne Parnell came in the 49th over. The last over saw a couple of brilliant fours and sixes off AB de Villiers bat that took his score to 115 (his 15th ODI hundred) and the team’s total to 268. ==================================================================================== Over 25 || Score 92/3 Hashim Amla and Q de Kock opened the South Africa innings. Mohammad Irfan and Sohail Tanvir started the bowling campaign for Pakistan. Right in first over of the match, Irfan got a big wicket. Hashim Amla was caught behind the wickets. Faf du Plessis was at number 3. Spinner Saeed Ajmal was introduced in the sixth over. By the end of 10 overs, the South Africans had completed 50 runs. Just as the runs were flowing in, the next five overs saw loss of two wickets in quick succession. In the 13th over, Pakistan managed to get their second wicket in form of de Kock. He was caught ahead on Ajmal’s delivery. The ball that hit his pads would have gone ahead to hit the middle stump. After Kok's departure, JP Duminy continued the innings with F du Plessis. In the 16th over, Duminy was caught out. Off Mohammad Hafeez’s delivery, Duminy went back foot and hit the ball towards silly mid-on where fielder Shehzad dived forward to take an excellent catch. It is now time for AB de Villiers to catch hold of the dwindling top-order to manage a decent score for South Africa. ==================================================================================== Toss:South Africa have won the toss and elected to bat first. The Proteas have had a successful series as they have already won the series with a 3-1 lead, but they will look forward to seal it 4-1.
