Jaipur: Actor Rajeev Khandelwal may have defended his show `Sach Ka Saamna` as a "tool of truth", but his mother believe that the popular TV programme often crosses the lines of societal propriety.
The contents of the show which delves into the personal and sexual histories of contestants has been described as degrading to "Indian culture" by parliamentarians and social activists and Khandelwal`s mother in Jaipur has echoed similar sentiments.
"The format is interesting, but sometimes I think it is best not to probe into certain aspects of a person`s life for the sake of the society and their families," the host`s mother Vijayalaxmi Khandelwal, told reporters here.
While Khandelwal`s mother said that she would never want to be on the hot seat in front of her son, his father a retired member of the Indian Army said that he will gladly become a participant on the controversial show.
"I would reveal all truth about my life, except the secrets of the Army if given a chance to be part of the show," said his father CL Khandelwal.
Khandelwal`s father also came down heavily on the politicians who had raised objections against the show, which had become the centre of a raging debate in Parliament.
"Did society get the right message through the many incidents of corruption or the Chand-Fiza episode? The politicians should think of their own flaws before blaming others," he said.
