London: Teenage pace sensation Pat Cummins is facing another Australian Test summer on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a bone stress injury in his lower back.
Cummins was sent for scans upon his arrival in Australia after complaining of back soreness following the Sydney Sixers` Champions League triumph earlier this week, a leading Australian daily reported on Friday. According to the paper, the latest injury is to a different part of Cummins`s back, which he hurt two years ago after the Shield final for NSW, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Cummins had admitted that his immediate playing future was "up in the air", as his terrible run with injury continues with the latest diagnosis coming after he missed the entire summer last season due to a heel injury. He has been plagued by injury in the past year and was flown home from Australia`s one-day tour of England in June after sustaining a side strain in the first match at Lord`s. ANI
