PCB announces cash bonuses for national team

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced cash bonuses for the national team after its 2-0 victory over Australia in the recent Test series.

PCB chief Shaharyar Khan said every team member would get 500,000 rupees each as the cash bonus for winning the series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates.

"But we have also decided to add in extra incentives for the top performers and Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq will be paid an extra million each," Khan said.

Khan said similarly other players will get additional half a million and 250,000 rupees each for their winning performances.

"All in all it was a tremendous team effort to beat a top team like Australia and these cash incentives are just a way to appreciate the hard work of the players," he said.

"But ultimately I have told the players more than anything their wins have brought pride and joy to the nation and this must continue this momentum against other teams as well," Khan added.

Younis scored three successive hundreds against Australia while captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali also contributed with two centuries each.
