PCB sends showcause notice to Miandad
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a showcause notice to former skipper Javed Miandad for criticising the board`s policies.
Miandad had slammed the PCB`s working style, claiming that 90 per cent of the decisions taken by the authorities were wrong.
Miandad who is employed as the director cricket affairs in the board since 2008 on a lucrative package, said in his interview that after closely watching the working of the board he was convinced 90 per cent decisions were erroneous and this was spoiling the sport in the country.
A PCB official confirmed that they sent a showcause notice to Miandad.
"The PCB is very clear about the rules and regulations governing its employees and contracted players. Javed Miandad is a employee and has to follow these regulations as well," the official said.
"Basically we have sought an explanation of his statement from him which is a violation of his contract," he said.
This is not the first time that Miandad has criticised the board policies -- in 2009 he had resigned to protest the policies of chairman, Ejaz Butt.
