This has been South Africa’s day. They bundled out the Aussies for a meagre 163 runs and then have finished day 2 at 230 for the loss of 2 wickets. They already enjoy a 292 run lead and have 8 wickets in hand. They will be looking to further consolidate their position on the third day.

South African batsmen are doing it all too easily. Amla and Smith have looked rock solid in defence and very assured in their attack. Runs coming at a very good rate for the Proteas.

Australia have started with Starc and Watson. Huge appeal for caught behind off Watson’s bowling but Smith survives. Both batsmen have been lucky on a few occasions. Petersen has got a few very lucky boundaries.

South Africa have folded Australia for 163 runs. South Africa now have a lead of 62 runs. Dale Steyn took 4/ 40 and Peterson took 3/ 44 to lead the Australian downfall. Matthew Wade played a brilliant innings of 68 runs for the Aussies.

Nathan Lyon survived the final assault of the day from a charging Dale Steyn as Australia ended the day at 33/2. After bowling out South Africa for 225 on the opening day of the final Test, the home team lost two wickets within five overs.
