Pietersen says ‘I have no interest in criticism’

Dubai: Out of form England batsman Kevin Pietersen has said he isn’t affected by the criticism anymore, and added that his skin has become thick enough to ignore it.

“I have no interest in it [criticism]. People can say what they want but my skin is very, very thick now,” The Express.co.uk quoted Pietersen, as saying.

Pietersen has been under fire after enduring a less than impressive tour of UAE against Pakistan.

He has managed just 67 runs in six innings of three Test matches and in the two ODI’s so far he has posted less than credible knocks of 26 and 14.

But Pietersen believes he needs to score runs and his performance has been below expected levels. It has been tough. I’ve played for England since 2004 in 80 Test matches [81] and 100 and odd one-day internationals [125] but this has been very hard and very tough,” he said.

“The conditions here have been tough and it is a challenge. Although I feel in very good form I’ve just not been getting the rub of the green,” he added.
