Prior says England batsmen prepared for Kiwi Test seriesLondon: Wicket keeper Matt Prior has claimed England batsmen are not undercooked ahead of their Test series against New Zealand after frail showings during their warm up game.

As the top order crumbled like a stock cube against a Kiwis XI in England`s only warm-up game before the real business starts in Dunedin next week, it was left to Prior to who claimed that England`s top order were not undercooked, a British tabloid reports.

Prior, whose bristling 68 from 76 balls contained 11 boundaries and Graeme Swann`s audacious 41 not out lifted Cook`s side from the perils of 67-4 in the second innings of the warm up. Addressing the lack of runs among the top order big guns, Prior insisted he doesn`t think it`s a concern, adding its obvious that his teammates would love to go into the first Test with big hundreds behind them, but that`s not the be-all and end-all, and the facilities they had for preparation here have been outstanding.

Prior added when you walk out to the middle, sometimes you can nick your first ball and off you go again, but the most important thing is going into next week feeling good. Prior further said quite honestly, they will have to raise our game a little bit, adding they have only just got back together as a Test unit and they still got a little way to go to hit the level of intensity where they want to be.

Prior added that is why you`ve got your warm-up games, adding they still got a few days before the first Test and there`s a lot you can do in that space of time. The glove man added he wouldn`t say `undercooked` is something they are thinking about right now, adding he is very reluctant to go anywhere near a word like `undercooked` when they really only just got here.
