Rain frustrates India in tour match

Rain meant no play was possible before lunch on the second day of India`s opening warm-up match of their tour of England, against Leicestershire at Grace Road on Friday.

India made 333 for four declared on the first day, with Shikhar Dhawan, Gautam Gambhir and Cheteshwar Pujara all compiling fifties.

But their bowlers were left kicking their heels as heavy rain washed out the morning session and threatened to lead to no play at all on Friday.

After this match, India make the short journey to Derby for another three-day warm-up fixture before remaining in the Midlands for the first of a five-Test series against England at Nottingham`s Trent Bridge starting on July 9.
