Rain played spoilsport as the second and final four-day match between India A and Australia A ended in a draw on the fourth day at the Allan Border Field here Wednesday.

Only 50 overs were possible on the final day before rain stopped play. An unbeaten century from Phillip Hughes (100 not out) capped off the final day’s play. Hughes and Alex Doolan (91 not out) blazed Australia A to 202 for no loss in their second innings before rain set in and play was called off. Hughes notched up his 25th first class ton (100 from 141 balls) and was ably partnered by Doolan (91 from 166 balls) as Australia A established a 124-run lead before the match was declared a draw. The two-match series between Australia A and India A ended in a 0-0 draw. The Australia A one day squad will travel to Darwin Thursday ahead of their one-day quadrangular series against India A, South Africa A and Cricket Australia’s National Performance Squad. Brief scores: Australia A 423 & 202/0 (Phil Hughes 100 not out, Alex Doolan 91 not out). India A 501 (Naman Ojha 110, Umesh Yadav 90, Manoj Tiwary 63; Chadd Sayers 5/84, Ben Cutting 4/100).
