New Delhi: Saurashtra on Friday became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season thanks to a brilliant Jaydev Unadkat spell.

The Jaydev Shah-led side defeated Vidarbha by an innings and 85 runs on the third day of the match in Vizianagaram. It is also Saurashtra's first semi-final appearance in three seasons.

Left-arm seamer Unadkat took four wickets in the second innings to take his match tally to nine for 116. After bowling out Vidarbha for 151 in their first innings, Saurashtra had scored 375 in their opening essay to take a massive 224-run lead.

Saurashtra will play the winner of the quarter-final match between Assam and Punjab.
