Ravindra Jadeja: Cricket was 'waste of time' for UPSC aspirant fiancee Reeva Solanki

New Delhi: Days after their high-profile engagement, Ravindra Jadeja's fiancee Reeva Solanki said that India's favourite pastime cricket was a "waste of time" until she met the all-rounder.

"I was never interested in cricket before Ravindra came into my life. But that's in the past. I now go to matches to watch Ravindra playing. I have also started following the game closely," Reeva told Mid-Day.

According to the report, the 24-year-old USPC aspirant initially felt that the Indian all-rounder appeared to be a "tough" person, but she later realised that he's actually "very soft and kind-hearted".

"Ravindra looks tough from outside, but he's actually very soft and kind-hearted. He is crazy about horses and dogs. In his free time, he spends maximum time at his farm house with the animals. Good natured people are generally animal lovers. He may be an introvert, but he cherishes his time with friends and family," said Solanki.

They got engaged in Rajkot on February 5.

Jadeja will be busy with national duties, with India playing Sri Lanka in a three-match Twenty20 International series ahead of Asia Cup in Bangladesh and ICC World Twenty20 in India.

Meanwhile, Solanki will be at home, preparing for the UPSC exams.

"There will be ample time to go for matches after the exams," she concluded.
