New Delhi: A photograph of Virat Kohli along with Ashish Nehra is a huge hit on social media, where the latter can be seen handing over a trophy to Kohli, who was then a teenager.
Speaking to the Indian Express, Nehra opened up about the photograph and said that it has gone viral because of Kohli's achievements in international cricket.
"I’m not on social media but that picture has become popular now because where Virat Kohli is today. Otherwise it was just a picture on the wall and nobody would have admired it. Now that picture belongs to Virat Kohli," Nehra said.
Nehra further added that the photograph was taken some 13 years back and nobody spoke about it then.
"This picture was taken some 13 years back. When I was playing in 2009-11 Virat was also playing. Then nobody talked about that picture. It’s all about media and social media," the Delhi pacer added.
The 37-year-old underwent a knee surgery in London to treat a "high-grade tendon injury" he had suffered on his right knee during an Indian Premier League match earlier this month.
Spearheading the Sunrisers Hyderabad attack, Nehra sustained a hamstring tendon injury during their IPL match against Kings XI Punjab on May 15, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament.
