Recharged Shahzad eyeing England Test comeback against Lanka
London: England fast bowler Ajmal Shahzad, who was injured, has announced that he is now ready to be Andrew Strauss’ trump card in all forms of the game.
“I feel fine and strong. I’ve got a lot of improvement in me – if I hadn’t I’d be the best bowler in the world. I’d like to become an established Test player and have longevity in my career, but that will only come from hard graft,” Shahzad was quoted as saying.
“I have got a few different deliveries – outswingers, inswingers, slower balls – and I’m working on more. What you want is to be able to bowl any of them at will, without really thinking about it,” he added.
With James Anderson and Stuart Broad nailed on for slots in next month’s first Test against Sri Lanka, Shahzad will be challenging the likes of Tim Bresnan, Chris Tremlett and Steve Finn.
