New Delhi: Considered to be one of the most stylish batsmen across the world, Kevin Pietersen couldn`t do much with the bat in the recently concluded Test series against Australia, where the hosts reclaimed the Ashes 5-0.

Several cricket experts have asked for his axing following the humiliation against the Michael Clarke-led side. Even KP expressed his disappointment after the loss and hailed Australia as a top class team.

As Pietersen failed to live up to the expectations being a seasoned campaigner, many are of the view that he should be dropped from the squad after a poor series where he hit just two half-centuries from eight innings. But Pietersen clearly showed that he had no intentions to retire and was looking forward to help England reclaim the Ashes in 2015.

Pietersen was one of the three batsmen along with Ian Bell and Alastair Cook to score two or more half-centuries against a quality pace attack. He was also England`s highest run-scorer with 294 runs. While it was a rare failure by most of the English batsmen, the question is whether England can drop a batsman of his caliber from their struggling squad?
