London: Australian cricketer Peter Siddle has revealed his inspiration to become an Ashes winner was forged at the MCG, as a waterboy for Shane Warne.
According to the Mirror, during the 2006 Boxing Day Test, Siddle carried the drinks for the Aussies on their way to a 5-0 whitewash.
And as he ran the juice out to his hero Warne his mind was made up that this was where he wanted to be, the report said.
Siddle said that he was a young bloke playing for Victoria and they always had extra players that helped out with carrying drinks and helping the 12th man with his duties.
He added that that`s when he realised that he did want to be out there, to be a part of it all.
Siddle will now make his 50th appearance for Australia when he runs out for the Boxing Day Test, the report added.
