New Delhi: Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has been going through a rough patch for quite some time now, rubbished the allegations of being casual and reckless in his approach.
In the recent past, Dhawan and Rohit Sharma faced criticism from many quarters for being irresponsible while batting.
"I always back my shots. I know this particular shot gives me runs. It can also cost me my wicket. I have to accept it because only I know what is best for me. It is not that I am irresponsible because I get out playing shots,” the southpaw told The Hindu.
“I like to make an impact with aggression. Rohit and I approach the task in a similar manner. But people say we appear lazy. We are not casual and certainly not reckless,” the 30-year-old added further.
Dhawan also said he never lacks preparation but it hardly gets noticed as what gathers eyeballs is only the end result.
