New Delhi: According to a report in The Hindu, former India cricketer S. Sriram is set to join the Australian cricket team as consultant.
The Aussies have decided to to rope in Sriram in order to help them prepare for the Bangladesh series next month.
Interestingly, this is the first time an Indian will be part of the senior Australian cricket team's coaching staff.
The 39-year-old will travel with the Steve Smith's side for the two-Test series beginning at Chittagong on October 9.
Sriram worked with the Australia ‘A' side when they toured India for a Test and triangular ODI series in July-August this year.
Impressed with his inputs during that tour, Cricket Australia has now recruited Sriram as consultant to the senior team.
