New Delhi: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar had an important message for Mumbai's junior cricketers as curtains came down on year 2015.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the former Indian skipper spent almost two hours with Mumbai's U-16 team at Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA’s) Bandra Kurla Complex Ground on Wednesday.
The training session was also attended by Arjun Tendulkar who is part of the Mumbai team.
Sachin asked the youngsters to avoid playing flashy T20 shots and focus concentrate on improving their basics.
"He showed them how to grip the ball differently for out-swingers and in-swingers. He also bowled in the nets to explain some of the finer nuances of bowling to the youngsters," a source told Mid-Day.
"Sachin asked the boys to stay away from practicing some of the flashy T20 shots. He said the boys should concentrate on improving their basics at the moment as they are just beginning to learn the game," he further added.
This is certainly interestingly advice coming from the little master who is a mentor of IPL champions Mumbai Indians.
