Sanjay Patel wants access to documents, emails to help two-man panel

New Delhi: After removing N Srinivasan as ICC chairman, BCCI has now diverted its attention to former secretary and loyalist of the Tamil Nadu strongman - Sanjay Patel.

Patel has of late been under-fire for the Snoopgate controversy wherein the board had paid $900,000 to Page Protective Services to spy on high-profile individuals in the board.

According to a report in the Times of India, Patel told the BCCI members present that there was a need for him to be granted access to all documents and email correspondence of his tenure as board's secretary in order to help the two-man committee in its investigation.

“A request has been initiated within the BCCI after Patel asked for access and it has been forwarded to the secretary, Anurag Thakur, who needs to give the approval. Mr Patel says he doesn't remember anything off-hand so we're giving him a fair chance to give his explanation," a highly-placed source TOI.
