Karachi: Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar believes veteran Test batsman Younis Khan should retire from international cricket now.
Describing Younis as 'one of the best batsmen' of the game, Akhtar said it would be better if the 37-year-old announces his retirement from international cricket and goes home with all respect, the Dawn reported.
The maverick former pace bowler said Younis should play for six more months if he still feels he has cricket left in him.
Earlier, legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram had advised Younis to drop the idea of playing limited-overs format, saying that he should solely focus on Test cricket.
Despite insisting that he can still play ODIs, the selectors have ignored Younis from the limited overs format, with latest being sidelined for the Zimbabwe series.
