Sourav Ganguly to become new BCCI president? Here's what Dada said...

New Delhi: Shashank Manohar on Tuesday stepped down as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president to take charge at the International Cricket Council (ICC) as an independent chairman.

The Indian board is currently looking at a replacement for the Nagpur lawyer. Names of several candidates have been doing the rounds in the media of late.

One of them happens to be former Indian captain and current CAB president Sourav Ganguly.

Dada however claims he is not part of the race, as he does not have the requisite experience to govern Indian cricket.

"I don't think I meet the qualification criteria, have only been the CAB president for 6-7 months," he told reporters.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur is likely to be elevated some say. While Rajeev Shukla and Ajay Shirke too are said to be in contention.
