New Delhi: He was once expected to fill in the huge shoes of former South African legend Jacques Kallis. But Ryan McLaren didn't find a space in South Africa's 15-man World Cup squad announced on Wednesday.

McLaren, who played 14 ODIs in 2014 and scalped 23 wickets, wasn't included in the squad.

Cricket South Africa confirmed the 15-member squad through their official account on social micro-blogging site Twitter.

Albie Morkel expressed his views on McLaren's exclusion from the squad.

While AB de Villiers will lead the squad, Hashim Amla will be his deputy.
