Centurion: Quinton de Kock, South Africa`s rising wicketkeeping star, faces a battle to be fit for the 2015 World Cup after being ruled out of the remaining Test and limited overs matches against the West Indies.

De Kock injured his left ankle while warming up before play on the third day of the first Test.

A scan revealed a torn ligament. Team manager and doctor Mohammed Moosajee said the recovery period could be between six and 12 weeks.

"In terms of the World Cup, our first match of the tournament is in eight weeks, which hopefully affords a sufficient recovery period," said Moosajee.

Meanwhile West Indian fast bowler Kemar Roach is expected to miss the rest of the series because of an ankle injury which he suffered while bowling on the first day of the first Test. He did not bat in either innings.

The West Indies have called up Narsingh Deonarine to replace the injured Assad Fudadin in the Test squad.
