Bangalore: Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on Tuesday backed Indian cricket board`s decision to revive the Indo-Pak biletaral cricket ties and wanted sport in general to be independent of politics and conflict.
Sought his views on the BCCI`s decision, Singh said, "We should not have any other consideration as far as sport goes."
"It (sport) should be independent of politics, conflict and all other things," he added.
The bilateral cricketing ties had been snapped after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and there have been several attempts by the Pakistan Cricket Board in recent months to convince the BCCI to resume it.
BCCI`s Working Committee yesterday agreed to play three ODIs and two T20 matches between the two arch-rivals.
