Colombo: India`s already depleted pace attack got a further blow as fast bowler Sreesanth was ruled out of the entire Test series in Sri Lanka due to a knee inujry.
According to reports, Sreensanth, who was asked to lead the pace attack in the absence of Zaheer Khan, has encountered a knee problem and may be out for the next 4-5 weeks. The bowler also missed Sunday`s practice session.
Also, giving a miss to the session was spin spearhead Harbhajan Singh, who is down with fever.
Zaheer was ruled out of the Test series due to a shoulder injury and in his absence Sreesanth and lanky Ishant Sharma were to do the duty with the new ball.
Now, qith Sreesanth also ruled out, youngsters Jaidev Unadkat, who played with the India A team in England, may fancy his chances.
But India are unlikely to go with the three pacemen in the Sri Lankan conditions and Abhimanyu Mithun, replacement of Zaheer, will be first choice to fill in the slot.
India are scheduled to play a three-day warm up game against Sri Lanka Board President`s XI from Tuesday.
