Sri Lanka fined for slow over-rate against England

London: Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara was fined 40 percent of his match fee for a slow over-rate in the drawn final Test against England, the International Cricket Council said on Tuesday.

The rest of the Sri Lanka team were each fined 20 percent of their fees after they were ruled to be two overs short of the target amount at the end of the weather-affected contest in Southampton, England On Monday.

Sri Lanka accepted the penalty without contest.
