New Delhi: After losing the first Test at Galle against Sri Lanka from a commanding position, the Indian team management decided to include all-rounder Stuart Binny to the squad.
The three-match old Binny can swing the new ball both ways and could be handy with the bat as well.
On the eve of the 2nd Test, Indian skipper Virat Kohli looked positive about the Karnataka player and gave few hints of his inclusion in the final XI.
“Wicket looks pretty different, should be a hard surface. Stuart gives us option for a third seamer if the wicket is helpful. Stuart’s batting is improving. Once he gains confidence, he can become a pretty solid batsman. Right now he is a seaming all-rounder.” said Kohli.
His inclusion will not only give some depth to Indian batting line-up but also provide Kohli an option of the third seamer.
Injuries and inconsistency among the Indian batsmen are major issues at the moment. If Binny gets the nod for the 2nd Test, will the all-rounder be able to fix the issues? This is the big question for Team India.
