India vs Sri Lanka: VVS Laxman confident Team India will win three-match Test series

New Delhi: As India take on Sri Lanka in the first Test of the three-match series beginning at Galle on Wednesday, former cricketer VVS Laxman has expressed confidence that Virat Kohli and company will emerge victorious.

Laxman, who played 134 Tests in India, expressed his views on Twitter.

The series is special for the Sri Lankan fans since it will mark the end of Kumar Sangakkara's illustrious career. The left-hander who has so far played 132 Tests for his country, will retire from international cricket after the second Test which will be played at Colombo.

It will be the first full-fledged series as captain for Virat Kohli, who is yet to prove his credentials as a Test captain. The flamboyant right-hander, who slammed four tons in the Test series in Australia last year, would be expected to deliver something similar against the Angelo Mathews-led side.

With quality spinners at his disposal, there is no reason why India cannot win the series against a Sri Lankan team, which has had a pretty bad outing in the last few series.
