Mahendra Singh Dhoni's playing XI: Can Pawan Negi find a place in 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka

New Delhi: After blanking Australia 3-0 in the T20I series Down Under, Team India faced a humiliating five-wicket defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka, in the first T20I at Pune.

Trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, next game at skipper MS Dhoni's home ground is a do-or-die match for India.

It means, Dhoni is not in a position to experiment with the playing XI.

However, the 'bluff master' Dhoni has a knack of doing things out of the box.

And it might tempt him to give a chance to uncapped Pawan Negi, who has been in news of late, first for his surprise inclusion in the Asia Cup and World T20 squads and then during the IPL auction, where he emerged as the costliest Indian player.

An all-rounder, Negi played a lot under Dhoni, during his stint with IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

His bowling style, slow left arm orthodox spin, is apt for Indian tracks. And apart from bowling a handful overs, the diminutive cricketer has a reputation of clearing the field as and when needed.

It means, Dhoni has an option to rest Ravindra Jadeja in the 2nd T20I, and give Negi a chance to prove his mettle.
