London: Statistical highlights of the fifth day`s play in the first cricket Test between India and England.
England`s victory by 196 runs is their 35th against India in 100 Tests. (Lost 19 and Drawn 46) -- success % 35.00.
James Anderson (5/65) registered his second five--wicket haul against India -- his 11th in Tests.
Anderson has taken 43 wickets at an average of 27.13 in 10 Tests at Lord`s.
Anderson has bagged five wickets in an innings at Lord`s three times -- 5 for 42 against India in 2007, 5 for 65 against India in 2011 and 5 for 73 against Zimbabwe in 2003.
Anderson has reached 150 wickets at home at an average of 26.96 in 36 Tests. He has produced five-wicket hauls nine times in England.
Anderson has dismissed Sachin Tendulkar six times in seven Tests.
Suresh Raina (78 off 136 balls) posted his first fifty against England -- his sixth in Tests.
Raina has recorded four fifties in consecutive Tests in 2011 -- 82 at Kingston, 53 at Bridgetown, 50 at Roseau – all three against the West Indies and 78 against England at Lord`s.
For the first time in the Lord`s Test, India (286 and 261) recorded 250 or more in each innings.
Kevin Pietersen received his seventh MOM award in Tests -- his second against India.
Pietersen`s tally of seven MOM awards is bettered by Ian Botham (12) and Graham Gooch (9) for England.
In his last five outings in the fourth innings of a Test match, VVS Laxman has posted 103 not out against Sri Lanka at Colombo PSS, 73 not out against Australia at Mohali, 32 not out against South Africa at Cape Town, 3 not out against West Indies at Roseau and 56 against England at Lord`s.
Laxman (56 off 113 balls) posted his second fifty at Lord`s -- he had registered 74 off 120 balls in a 2002 Test.
Laxman`s 53rd Test half-century is his fifth against England.
In the second innings, Laxman has averaged 51.58 -- 3250 in 82 innings, including five hundreds and 21 fifties.
Rahul Dravid, in the course of his second innings score of 36, became the leading run-scorer in the fourth innings in Tests, taking his tally to 1470 (ave.43.23) in 52 innings, overtaking Brian Lara`s tally of 1440 (ave.35.12) in 46 innings.
The top four run-getters in the fourth innings in Tests are -- Dravid (1470), Lara (1440), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (1406) and Sunil Gavaskar (1398).
After recording an unbeaten 68 against West Indies at Basseterre in June 2006, Dravid has not posted a half-century in 16 fourth innings of a Test match -- his average being 26.36 while aggregating 290 runs in sixteen innings – his highest being 38 against Australia at Sydney in January 2008.
Sachin Tendulkar posted 12 off 68 balls at a strike rate of 17.64 -- the lowest registered by him at Lord`s in nine innings. The rate is his second lowest away from home when he has recorded double-digit score -- the lowest being 15.38 (14 not out off 91 balls) against South Africa at Cape Town in January this year.
Tendulkar has averaged 21.66 at Lord`s -- 195 in nine innings, without a fifty.
Andrew Strauss enjoys success rate of 50.00 – 18 victories, five losses and 13 drawn games out of 36 played.
India have won one, lost 11 Tests and drawn four out of 16 played at Lord`s.
England have won 47, lost 27 and drawn 47 out of 121 played at Lord`s.
For the first time in a Test match, Stuart Broad has bagged seven wickets -- 7 for 94, eclipsing the 6 for 87 against South Africa at Durban in December 2009.
