The experienced William Porterfield will lead Ireland at the upcoming World Twenty20 in India. The Irish are no strangers to the big occasion, with as as many as five players making their fifth trip to the tournament.
Apart from Porterfield, who captained the side at the World T20 in England in 2009, Ireland's squad boasts of plenty of seasoned players in the form of Paul Stirling, Gary Wilson, Kevin O'Brien and Niall O'Brien.
Boyd Rankin, who has represented England in 7 ODIs, 1 Test and 2 T20Is, is also part of the Ireland team.
Having scalped six wickets in an Intercontinental Cup clash against Papua New Guinea recently, the pacer will shoulder the responsibility of leading the attack.
Ireland are part of the same qualifying group as Netherlands, Oman and Bangladesh. Poterfield and his men will commence their campaign against Oman on March 9 in Dharamsala.
