Karachi: Former Pakistan Test opener and coach Mohsin Khan has blamed poor technique, technical and mental issues for the national team`s loss in the first Test against Sri Lanka.

The match was played at Galle last week, and Sri Lanka won it by seven wickets.

The Express Tribune quoted Mohsin, as saying that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should have worked more on technical and mental issues of the players, and maybe less on their physical fitness.

He said that the off-season is usually the best time to work on improving technical and mental issues of players, but the present coaching set-up had failed on this score.

He questioned the fact that the players were made to run around the ground like donkeys and horses, and added that there was no use of having super fit players if they could not perform where it mattered - on the field of play.

The Pakistan cricket team should also have had a proper game plan to counter the Sri Lankans, which they did not have.
