The feeling of winning the Ashes hasn't sunk in: Ben Stokes

New Delhi: England's new Ashes hero Ben Stokes on Monday thanked the fans for their support and said that the feeling of winning the Ashes was yet to sink in.

Stokes, who claimed a six-wicket haul in the second innings at Trent Bridge, expressed his views on Twitter.

Since James Anderson was ruled out of the fourth Test due to a side strain, the hosts needed a special effort from someone like Stokes and the dashing all-rounder won the respect of his team-mates with a stupendous spell of seam bowling (6/36).

Man of the Match Stuart Broad was of the view that it was the best he had seen Stokes bowl in his career. Being touted as the next Ian Botham, Stokes has played a major role in England's formidable show at the cricket's greatest rivalry this year.

England thrashed Australia by an innings and 78 runs in the fourth Test inside three days to retain the urn in a comprehensive manner.
