Colombo: The third ODI match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was suspended due to persistent rain.
Only 6.3 overs could be bowled on Wednesday which came to the rescue of Pakistan who had lost Mohammad Hafeez and Azhar Ali with just 12 runs on the board.
Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and decided to bat first, a decision that didn’t work for him as Malinga scalped Hafeez in the first over itself. Before Pakistan could recover from the huge blow, Kulasekara dismissed Azhar Ali, in the sixth over.
Pakistan were in huge trouble and after the loss of two wickets, rain intervened after which the match was abandoned.
Both the teams have so far won a match each.
