Chennai: Tamil Nadu gained first innings lead over Andhra in a truncated Cooch Behar Trophy match that ended in a draw in Chennai on Sunday.
The match commenced only at 2.15 pm due to rain and Tamil Nadu overnight 81 without loss were 214 for opener K.Bharath Shankar`s wicket in reply to Andhra`s 195.
The captain and other opener Baba Aparajith remained unbeaten on 113 (148b, 8x4, 4x6) when the match was called off at the fall of first wicket.
Aparajith and Bharath Shankar (run out 88, 147b, 10x4, 2x6) added 214 in 48.5 overs.
Tamil Nadu totalled 12 points, including three, from this match and Andhra, with one point from this tie, aggregated eight.
