Upbeat Railways eyeing to overpower minnows Orissa

New Delhi: Brimming with confidence after their innings and 94-run win over Uttar Pradesh in the last match, an upbeat Railways will look to register another outright win over wooden spooners Orissa in their penultimate Elite Group A match of the Ranji Trophy starting on Monday.

Railways are on 10 points from five matches while Orissa have a solitary point from five games having lost three, drawn two out of which one against Saurashtra didn`t fetch them any points.

While Railways have gradually improved with each and every match, Orissa have looked down the barrel with neither their batting nor bowling clicked.

Krishna Kant Upadhyay`s presence in the Railway line-up has given them a solid look. KK as he is fondly called by teammates has grabbed 16 wickets from two matches and has been one of the reasons for Railways` resurgence.

Youngster Nitin Bille who scored a century in the last match along with senior opener Shivakant Shukla have been in fine form. Not to forget the pushing 40 Bangar who has had a very good season having scored over 400 runs and taken nine wickets.

There is nothing much to write about the Orissa team which is coached by former India medium pacer Debashish Mohanty. The likes of Biplab Samantray, Basant Mohanty, skipper Halhadhar Das would need a lot of inspiration to log home full points from this encounter.
