Sydney: In form South Africa fast bowler Vernon Philander has said he is looking forward to bowl against Australia on a juicy green top at the Gabba, Brisbane, which is set to offer good pace and bounce to the quicks.
After setting foot in Australia on Sunday, it was not surprising that the South African pace sensation Philander expressed excitement about getting a first bowl on the pace-friendly wickets Glenn McGrath made his name.
“Obviously there is a bit of pace and bounce around here, so it will be great. I am looking forward it,” a website quoted Philander, as saying.
Australian batsman aside, there is plenty of others looking forward to seeing Philander in action this summer.
The Proteas quick is arguably the biggest shooting star in cricket, albeit at the mature age of 27.
Philander tore Australia apart on debut last year in Cape Town, taking 8-78 in the hosts victory, including 5-15 in Australia`s second-innings collapse of 47.
