New Delhi: While Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is often mocked for saving his best knocks for India's domestic cricket, one must not forget that he has also played some crucial knocks lower down the order for the Men in Blue at the biggest stage.

In one ODI against New Zealand, the left-hander played a gem of an innings.

Chasing a huge 314-run target at Auckland, MS Dhoni and his men were wobbling at 184/6 at one stage.

While Ashwin was batting at 19, not much was expected of him considering he isn't an established batsmen. In walked Jadeja.

Much to the surprise of the Kiwis, the duo stitched a brilliant 85-run stand for the seventh-wicket partnership.

They seemed to take India home, before Ashwin was removed by Nathan McCullum for 65.

Wickets continued to fall and towards the end, by the time the ninth wicket fell, India still needed 29 runs to win off the last 12 balls with just one wicket in hand.
