New Delhi: Emotions run high when India play Pakistan in any sport.
When it comes to cricket however, the rivalry between the two nations is considered even greater than The Ashes.
Apart from great cricketing action, several unsavory incidents have taken place when these two teams have clashed on pitch.
One that fans often remember is India opener Gautam Gambhir having a heated argument with Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal.
Nobody at the time understood what triggered the incident. The left-hander however clarified what actually had happened that day during a recent interview
"It happened in the heat of the moment. When India and Pakistan play each other then obviously it is a tense game.
“Good or a bad thing you can say but whatever arguments happened between us was during the drinks break. Instead of showing advertisements during the break Neo channel opted to show our heated arguments,” Gambhir said.
“I had tried to play and missed it fully. He appealed in such a way that he thought that the ball hit the bat. Then I told him that there is no point in appealing because nothing like that happened, we just got into a heated argument and then it just got from bad to worse,” he further added.
Gambhir is leading Kolkata Knight Riders exceptionally well in the IPL this term.
Thanks to his astute captaincy and a balanced squad, KKR are likely to make it to the play-offs this year.
