Virender Sehwag switches loyalties, to reprsent Haryana this season

New Delhi: Discarded Indian opener Virender Sehwag has quit Delhi to represent Haryana in the upcoming domestic season.

The news of Viru switching sides was confirmed by Anirudh Chaudhry, BCCI treasurer and secretary of Haryana Cricket Association, on social micro-blogging site Twitter.

"He has applied for an NOC. Considering he is a very senior player and has got a better offer for personal reasons, we will respect his desire to move on. We seriously admire his achievements and appreciated his contribution to Delhi and Indian cricket," DDCA vice-president Chetan Chauhan told ESPNcricinfo.

The 36-year-old was in fine form for Delhi last season, scoring 568 runs at an average of 51.63.
