New Delhi: The day was November 13, 1998. In the final match of Coca-cola Champions trophy at Sharjah, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar played one of his finest knocks in ODIs.
In the tri-series, India and Zimbabwe had already reached the final as Sri Lanka were knocked out. Ahead of the final in a dead rubber, Henry Olonga dismissed Sachin Tendulkar for just 11 off a quick bouncer.
The Indian batting maestro seemed to be quite upset with that dismissal.
In the final match, batting first, Zimbabwe put a 196-run total on board.
When India came to bat, Tendulkar looked determined to take revenge against Olonga as he smashed him to all parts of the ground.
Sourav Ganguly, who opened the innings with Tendulkar, was seen having a chat with him between his innings as he was looking to hit every ball bowled by Olonga for a boundary or a six.
As a result of Tendulkar's heroics, Zimbabwe suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat in the final as Tendulkar (124*) and Ganguly (63*) guided them to an emphatic win.
