WC inaugural match watched by more people than IPL III opener
New Delhi: The World Cup inaugural match between India and Bangladesh at Mirpur registered a peak rating of 12.48 across six metros in the country, more than 10 percent higher than the IPL III opener according to available data.
According to data issued by TAM -- a media research agency -- the opening match delivered an average cumulative rating of 7.8 across ESPN, STAR Sports, STAR Cricket and Doordarshan channels.
The India-Bangladesh match on February 19 reached out to 27.4 million consumers across six metros, registering an increase of 11 per cent over the opening match of IPL season three across the same target audience.
Bangalore leads the pack with an average TVR of 9.17 followed by Mumbai (9.14), Kolkata (7.7), Delhi (7.65), Hyderabad (6.43) and Chennai (4.94).
