Washington: Fans of British actor Colin Firth will soon see him on the royal throne as the star plays King George VI in his upcoming movie.The 48-year-old actor will play Queen Elizabeth II`s father in The King`s Speech, reports Contactmusic.
The film depicts the efforts of the royal house to correct a stammer in his speech when he was to ascend the throne following his brother Edward VIII`s abdication in 1936.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Geoffrey Rush has been roped in to play the king`s speech therapist Lionel Logue.
