Chennai: Mumbai Indians coach John Wright said on Friday that his side has put behind their opening game defeat and was focusing on how to beat Chennai Super Kings in their second IPL match here on Saturday.
"Losing is not fun. We are looking forward to the game against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. We are focusing on ourselves," Wright told reporters on the eve of MI`s second league match against CSK. "Winning is far more enjoyable. We are looking at a combination that would make us a winning outfit. We have very talented players. It`s a question of finding a combination", he said. "I hope it will be a good match tomorrow. The Super Kings are a settled unit and they would also enjoy home advantage," said the former New Zealand captain and ex-India coach. MI lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by two runs in their IPL opener in Bangalore last night. Wright said he was impressed by the performance of MI`s new find, pacer Jasprit Bumrah of Gujarat in last night`s match against RCB. "He has some pace and an interesting action. He offers a little bit of variation for us. He had an interesting start in front of a big crowd last night," said Wright. Asked about Ricky Ponting`s captaincy, Wright said, "He has strong leadership qualities. We are working to be a strong unit." On his responsibility in shaping Mumbai Indians as a winning combination, Wright said, "I organise the net sessions, Anil Kumble brings in valuable inputs and Ponting the captaincy." PTI
