We need improvement to do well against England: Harris

Perth: Australian paceman Ryan Harris is pleased with the way his side recovered from the Ashes humiliation to put up a dominant show against India but says they need to do better to turn the tables on England in the next series.

"We`re doing to India what England did to us a year ago," Ryan told a leading Australian daily. Harris said Australia`s pacemen have now been emphasizing more on bowling full. "So far we`ve got a success rate of 56 per cent in terms of getting the ball in the right spots. We want to get that up to 75-80 per cent. That`s where we`ll need to be against England," Harris said. Harris, who missed out the first two Test due to injury does not want to be left out for Adelaide Test. "I don`t want to be rotated, none of us do. But in saying that, it`s going to have to happen, particularly when James Pattinson and Pat Cummins and Ben Cutting are all available again." Talking about the Perth Test, Harris said he started losing patience when despite bowling well, he was not getting wickets. "At one stage there, I was getting quite frustrated but you`ve just got to keep going. You beat the bat by a couple of centimetres and you think, `If I just land the ball a centimetre or two across` but when you adjust you give away runs on the leg side and you release all the pressure." Harris said he was supported well by skipper Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting. "They just said to me that I might not be getting the rewards but by keeping the pressure on, I was helping the bloke bowling from the other end," Harris said. PTI
