Kingston: West Indies defeated New Zealand by five wickets to claim the second Test and the series 2-0 on Saturday.
The hosts were 71 runs short of a victory when the day began and they reached the target losing just one wicket of nightwatchman Kemar Roach who scored 41.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul (43*) and Narsingh Deonarine (15*) guided them home after Marlon Samules half-century effort.
After bowling out West Indies for 209 in the first innings, Black Caps had a first innings lead of 51 runs but their batting failed in the second essay as they were bundled out for just 154 setting a modest 206-run target.
John Wright would have hoped for a better farewell than a defeat in his last Test as the Kiwi coach. The visitors earlier had lost the ODI and T20 series 1-4 and 0-2 respectively.
